MP3 Players for Education, So? #5

My term paper topic is about Mp3 players as a possible stimulant for learning. Its kinda off topic actually, but as i read the articles about my topic, it somewhat gives light. It can replace heavy books with electronic ones, you can record a teacher's discussion and listen to it to have a 1 on 1 teaching experience. It can also store important files like research papers. I choose this topic because i'm actually a gadget geek, i really love to have gadgets and use it to their full potential as much as possible. With the enhancement of technology, it should also have effects on all aspects of life, and its subcategories like business, and education. I want to imply that as technology improves, education in relation also does.

Given the technological opportunities that MP3 players may offer, coupled with the broad current usage of this device among adolescents and young adults, an examination of classroom applications is of compelling interest.
With an overall objective of exploring potential classroom applications for MP3 technology, three subsequent objectives are as follows: ascertain the extent of the current body of literature relevant to MP3 classroom use and educational applications; query secondary teachers with regard to potential uses of MP3 technology within the curricula; and assemble recommendations on the use and further exploration of MP3 players among participants and the researcher-practitioner community.

MP3 players for me is a device for amusement and education uses. With its features and because its easy to use, it is a great asset for a student to have one.

I Dare YOU! [Feedback from therdy93.blogspot.com's post] #4

Hmmmm, Dare you to move by switchfoot. This is actually one of my favorite songs before. as i remember one of my classmate gave this one and lets me listen, then i got addicted to it. This song was used in the move "A Walk to Remember", and it gave me tears, literally. It was a good movie, with a good music to accompany it.

Anyhow, Theresa was the one who gave me the song, i really asked here many times on what was the title because i always forgot to ask her when she lends me her iPod.

-Thanks to Theresa for the source of my feedback. =)

Remembering Sunday #3

Forgive me, I'm trying to find my calling
I'm calling at night
I don't mean to be a bother
But have you seen this girl?
She's been running through my dreams
And it's driving me crazy, it seems
I'm going to ask her to marry me
This was one of the best song that I've listened until present. Actually at first I didn't expect to like any groups like Fall Out Boys or Mayday Parade, but this song hit me hard. This was the song that influenced me to listen new genres of songs, and this was the song that my crush likes at high school *smiles*.

The song was sung by All Time Low, one of my favorite punk bands \m/(-_-). the song's about a guy finding for his one true love who's lost by temptations in life. The song was very appealing, the voice is perfect, and the good thing is that its acoustic <3.

others may think that this song is for emo people or something but they're wrong, and i proved it =) the song is really special to me, to others maybe. so to all the haters of ATL, get the hell out :)

The neighbors said she moved away
Funny how it rained all day
I didn't think much of it then
But it's starting to all make sense
Oh, I can see now that all of these clouds
Are following me in my desperate endeavor
To find my whoever, wherever she may be

so what do you think? *wears headphones*

Escaping the "Concrete Jungle" #2

"Getting the good fresh air"

The feeling of peace, a place where "modernization" didn't infect the natural being of that place, that would be my dream place. It's good to relax, to relieve stress, to have fun. Somewhat this is a medicine or a remedy to all people experiencing stress.

Remembering tiny memories of my so called "escapades", the specific event that really blew my socks of is our family trip to the secluded place in the mountains of Tagoloan, Lanao del Norte, where the newly developed Mighty Cave in honor of the mayor of Tagoloan, Mighty Dimacuta.

I didn't expect that the trip's that fun, especially the road going to the cave. There's no pavement, its windy, dusty, and dry. The scene was spectacular, wide rice fields, farm animals and of course, the people who take care of those fields and animals, looking at the never ending scenic display of mother nature right before their eyes.

"Let the adventure begin!"

The thing that I said since I always (I think) do the first move whenever we do travels. As we climbed to the entrance of the cave, the strange rock formations caught my eyes, then I asked myself, "how the hell did this rocks form?". Maybe from the eyes of others, they can also ask this question. Imagine a large rock laying rest on a small, pointy rock. It seems that their doing a ballet routine, balanced and precise.

As we entered the cave, all of us noticed a foul stench, then our guide answered that the scent we just smelled is bat guano. It sent shivers through my spines then said "What! we're stepping on poo?!", then they laughed about what I said.

At last! we entered the weird looking cave, filled with bats and its "stenchy" droppings. I was amazing, since it was my first time to enter a cave. The cave is dark, so dark that I cannot see my fingers, ten to fifteen inches away from my face, "Pitch black", the statement that popped out of my head. Good thing I'm not afraid of the dark, or claustrophobic, because its really tight inside. Then we saw the famous stalagmites and stalactites. We took pictures inside, as a family. After that horrendous trip inside the cave, we saw this tunnel which is a secluded entrance in the cave, not yet developed it gives a natural feeling of use, getting lost inside the tunnel and found salvation because of that crevice.

It was the best experience for me because we went inside the tunnel as a family, and conquered the cave as a family. It's also a memorable day for me because I'm with my dad.

That's my greatest escapade, the escapade that I wont forget.

The "Teddy Bear" Effect #1

"This is weird"

The sentence that instantly popped inside my head. It's weird because, I really don't have any idea on what's going to be my best asset. Thinking that my friends would know what my asset is, I asked them one by one on what my asset is.

Some said that my best asset would be my eyes, because they give a "sense of calmness", they say. Others say that my attitude would be my best asset, because I can adopt to any environment with different kinds of people from different walks of life.

Alas! a memory popped out my head from when I still was a high school student, when I helped someone by just listening at it and not giving any comments about it, somewhat a job of a fluffy teddy bear lying in a bed, waiting for its owner to be hugged, thrown, played with, and listens to what its owner says, but it wont give back a reply, it just stays lifeless, all it needs to do is to listen. And that's the time that I came up with my best asset, "to listen to people's feelings".

Why this? because its really fun to listen to the feelings of others, not in the sense that you can use what they say for blackmailing them, but by listening to them, you'll realize how diverse and different a human being is, and you can also understand this person who shared something with you. Your work is like a psychiatrist, listening to its patients is its job, but of course, I don't give prescriptions to my so called "patients".

To me, listening to others is meaningful, because it means that those people who shares things to me means that they trust me. Sharing something is hard, but if you share things to people you trust, then it would turn out fine.

Listening without answering is my job.

To who would I listen to next?
